Homemade Lemon Meringue Pie


🍋 LEMON MERINGUE PIE 🍋


Bright, tangy lemon filling topped with fluffy golden meringue in a flaky crust—this pie is pure sunshine on a plate!


◾️ Ingredients


✅ 1 baked pie crust

✅ 1 cup sugar

✅ 2 tbsp cornstarch

✅ 1 cup water

✅ 3 egg yolks (beaten)

✅ 2 tbsp butter

✅ 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice 🍋

✅ 1 tbsp lemon zest

✅ 3 egg whites

✅ 1/4 tsp cream of tartar

✅ 6 tbsp sugar (extra for meringue)


◾️ Instructions


🔹 Make the filling: In a saucepan, whisk sugar, cornstarch, and water. Cook until thickened. Slowly whisk in beaten egg yolks, then stir in butter, lemon juice, and zest. Pour into the baked pie crust.

🔹 Make the meringue: Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar until stiff peaks form.

🔹 Assemble: Spread meringue over the hot filling, sealing the edges.

🔹 Bake: Bake at 350°F (175°C) until the meringue is golden. Cool completely.
