◾️Classic Old-Fashioned Meatloaf ❤️❤️
A comforting, homestyle favorite that never goes out of style!
👉Ingredients:
↪️1 1/4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
↪️1/4 cup milk
↪️1 lb. ground beef
↪️2 large eggs, beaten
↪️1 packet dry onion soup mix
↪️1 clove garlic, minced
↪️1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
↪️3 tbsp ketchup
↪️1/2 tsp black pepper
💚Topping:
↪️1/4 cup ketchup
↪️1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
↪️1 tsp yellow mustard
👉Instructions:
✅️1. In a large bowl, stir together the oats and milk. Let them sit for about 15 minutes to soak.
✅️2. Add the ground beef, eggs, onion soup mix, garlic, Worcestershire, ketchup, and pepper. Mix thoroughly using your hands to ensure everything is well combined.
✅️3. Shape the mixture into a loaf (about 1¾" thick) in a 9x9 inch baking dish.
✅️4. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes.
5. While baking, mix the topping ingredients together. After 30 minutes, brush the topping over the meatloaf (including the sides).
✅️6. Return to the oven for an additional 10 minutes. Let rest 5 minutes before slicing.
👉3 Tips for the Perfect Meatloaf:
▶️1. Don’t overmix — Too much mixing can make your meatloaf tough. Gently combine ingredients until just incorporated.
▶️2. Let it rest — Allow the meatloaf to rest after baking so juices redistribute, making each slice juicy and flavorful.
▶️3. Use your hands — Mixing by hand helps blend everything evenly without overworking the meat.
