Sichuan Pepper Salt Pork Ribs

🔹️Servings: 4

◾️Prep Time: 20 minutes

🔹️Cook Time: 40 minutes

👉Ingredients:

↪️1 lb pork ribs, cut into 2-inch pieces

↪️1 tbsp Sichuan peppercorns

↪️1 tbsp salt

↪️1 tbsp sugar

↪️1 tsp five-spice powder

↪️1/2 tsp ground ginger

↪️1/4 tsp ground white pepper

↪️1 tbsp soy sauce

↪️1 tbsp rice wine (optional)

↪️1 tbsp vegetable oil

👉Instructions:

✅️1. Prepare the ribs: Rinse the pork ribs and pat them dry with paper towels.

✅️2. Make the spice mix: In a small bowl, combine the Sichuan peppercorns, salt, sugar, five-spice powder, ground ginger, and white pepper.

✅️3. Marinate the ribs: In a large bowl, mix the spice blend with soy sauce and rice wine (if using). Add the ribs and toss until well coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate overnight for deeper flavor.

✅️4. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

✅️5. Bake the ribs: Arrange the marinated ribs in a single layer on the baking sheet. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until fully cooked and slightly crispy.

✅️6. Serve: Let the ribs cool for a few minutes, then serve hot.

👉Tips:

◾️Add red pepper flakes for extra heat.

◾️No Sichuan peppercorns? Black peppercorns can be used instead, but the flavor will be different.

◾️For crispier ribs, broil for 2–3 minutes after baking.

👉Notes:

◾️You can adjust the spices to suit your taste.

◾️This recipe also works well with pork chops or tenderloin.

◾️Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.

👉About the Dish:

This dish comes from Sichuan cuisine, known for its bold flavors and the signature numbing heat of Sichuan peppercorns. It’s both savory and slightly spicy—perfect for adventurous eaters.
