Ham and Cheese Lasagna (Easy & Cheesy Comfort Food)
This ham and cheese lasagna is the ultimate comfort dish—creamy, cheesy, and full of flavor. Perfect for a cozy family dinner or to impress guests without too much effort!
👉Ingredients (for 1 medium baking dish)
6 lasagna noodles (fresh or dry—cook if needed)
6 slices of ham (smoked, regular, or even turkey)
1 small onion, chopped
4 tbsp butter (about 50g)
1/3 cup flour (about 55g)
2 ½ cups milk (600ml, preferably 2%)
1 egg yolk (optional, for extra creaminess)
½ tsp salt
Black pepper to taste
A pinch of ground nutmeg
1 ½ cups shredded Emmental or mozzarella (140g)
8 oz sliced raclette cheese (or swap with cheddar, gouda, or Monterey Jack)
👉Instructions:
✅️1. Make the creamy cheese sauce (Mornay):
In a saucepan, melt butter. Add chopped onion and cook until soft. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in the milk. Add salt, pepper, nutmeg, and egg yolk. Cook on medium heat for 7–8 minutes, stirring until smooth and thickened. Add 1 cup of shredded cheese and mix until melted.
✅️2. Assemble the lasagna:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Butter your baking dish. Spread a bit of sauce on the bottom. Layer noodles, sauce, 2 slices of ham, and some raclette slices. Repeat twice. Finish with a final layer of noodles, the rest of the sauce, and top with the remaining shredded cheese.

Bake for about 20 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
