👉Ingredients:
↪️2 tablespoons olive oil
↪️1 lb ground beef
↪️1 white onion, halved and sliced
↪️4–6 medium Yukon Gold potatoes
↪️3 cups beef broth (divided)
↪️2 tablespoons ketchup
↪️4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce (divided)
↪️1 teaspoon garlic powder (divided)
↪️1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
↪️3 tablespoons cornstarch
↪️Salt and black pepper to taste
👉Instructions:
✅️1. Make the patties:
In a bowl, mix the ground beef with 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Shape into 4 equal patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
✅️2. Cook the patties:
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the patties on both sides, then remove them from the pan and set aside.
✅️3. Prep the potatoes:
Pierce each potato a few times with a fork and microwave for 5 minutes to soften. Once cool enough, cut them into 1½-inch chunks.
✅️4. Cook the onions and potatoes:
In the same skillet, add the sliced onions with a bit of salt and pepper. Cook until soft, about 5 minutes. Add the chopped potatoes and 2 cups of beef broth. Simmer for 5 minutes until potatoes are tender.
✅️5. Make the gravy:
In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining 1 cup of beef broth, ketchup, 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, thyme, and cornstarch. Pour this into the skillet and stir until it thickens.
✅️6. Finish the dish:
Reduce heat to low, return the patties to the skillet, and let them cook through in the gravy. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot and enjoy!
